I received this knife today and felt compelled to share my thoughts. I chose it based on its top reviews and the features I wanted—serrated edge, carbon steel or AUS-8, and an affordable price. However, after reading some reviews, I was a bit apprehensive, particularly about the locking mechanism not securing the blade properly.
I’ve included close-up pictures to showcase the knife. It’s a solid build, far exceeding my expectations for a $12 purchase. I recently spent $22 on an AUS-8 knife that wasn’t nearly as impressive.
The edges are razor sharp, even on the serrated part. The clip is made of heavy-duty metal and is securely attached to the frame. It has a good weight, suggesting quality metal, yet it’s light enough to be a great pocket knife. When open, it balances centrally, which is a hallmark of a well-designed knife.
As for the top part, it’s not sharp, nor did I expect it to be. Anyone familiar with this type of blade knows that it’s never sharp for a reason.
Importantly, the lock functions properly. It doesn’t swing all the way to the other side, which would compromise stability, but instead sits right below the blade as it should.
For just $12, this knife is an incredible bargain—easily worth $30. I encourage you to read the detailed reviews here; many users discuss its practical applications for work, which are the reviews that matter.
Personally, I’ve been trained in self-defense and knife fighting since I was five. My grandfather, a Korean War veteran, was a knife enthusiast and collector. I prefer to carry a reliable pocket knife because it makes people less anxious compared to a larger buck knife, and it gives me a better chance of defending myself if necessary.
I believe you don’t need to spend $100 for a decent knife. What matters is good metal, balance for throwing, and a blade design that cuts well and allows for twisting to prevent wounds from closing when removed. For survival, this knife can help you take down dinner, and the serrated edge is useful for cutting through small materials. Plus, if you’re ever trapped by a seatbelt, the serrated edges can help you escape.
This knife meets all those criteria, making it a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a reliable, budget-friendly multipurpose knife.

I’ve had this blade for over three years now, and although I bought it elsewhere, I found it new here and wanted to share my thoughts after extensive use. Currently, it’s discounted to $12.99, which is an amazing deal! You’re getting Smith and Wesson quality without the hefty $300 price tag, making it a fantastic option to consider.
In terms of wear and tear, this knife has held up remarkably well despite almost daily use. I’ve put it through its paces, using it for everything imaginable—safety blades just aren’t my style! There are some scuffs and a tiny chip (see the images), but I’ve intentionally tried to puncture materials like aluminum and sheet metal, and with the right technique, this blade can slice through bare metal without issue. It’s still sharp and strong.
I’ve tried sharpening it myself, but I recommend having a professional handle that instead. The tip is slightly worn but still in decent shape, so regular use shouldn’t dull it too much. I have a habit of fiddling with my blades, so I’ve likely gummed up the hinge a bit. It’s not as smooth as it used to be, but a little degreaser should restore it. After over 3,000 openings and closings, it still locks securely, even if it takes a bit more effort to open now.
The handle remains in excellent condition, fitting perfectly in my hand. It’s designed to last with no damage at all. However, those with larger, more muscular hands might find it a bit uncomfortable.
Overall, this is a solid blade that should last you at least five years without breaking the bank. The clip point design is great for both penetration and slashing. I’ve taken it everywhere—lost it in the snow, submerged it underwater, left it in the sun, and even dropped it from four stories—and it’s still my go-to knife for work.
This knife makes an excellent gift or a reliable choice for anyone looking for their first tactical folding knife that’s easy to carry and use. While I’m not an expert, I highly recommend it!

This is an excellent tool made entirely of metal, giving it a sturdy and hefty feel. It feels very secure in hand. The blade is sharp and measures just under 10cm. It features a great locking mechanism that prevents the knife from closing accidentally. Overall, it’s quite attractive. While the material may scratch with heavy use, I still believe it’s worth it for the safety it provides. For the price, it’s definitely a worthwhile purchase!

EDIT: I purchased this item for around $10 and initially rated it 5 stars for its outstanding value and quality. However, after just 3 weeks, the price jumped to $17. I understand inflation is a factor, but a 70% increase in such a short time is excessive! Therefore, I am changing my rating from 5 stars to 4 stars due to the diminished value. Below is my original review:
I was looking for a convenient pocket knife and wanted to keep the cost low. Most knives in this price range are made of standard stainless steel, which tends to dull quickly. However, this knife is made of high carbon steel, which means it’s stronger and offers a thinner, sharper edge with better edge retention. The quality of the steel is what makes a knife sharp; stronger steel can be honed to a finer edge without the risk of breaking or chipping. In contrast, cheap stainless steel can only be sharpened to a limited extent, and its edge dulls rapidly, requiring frequent sharpening. When I discovered that this knife was made of high carbon steel, was from the Smith & Wesson brand, and was available at such a great price, it was an easy decision—SOLD! After using this knife for about 3 weeks, I am very pleased with my purchase. It’s well-built, sturdy, durable, and still as sharp as the first day. You can’t go wrong with this knife.
Leanne –
The quality control is lacking; the liner lock fails to function because the blade’s bottom is too long, preventing the lock from disengaging. I’m quite disappointed.
Debbie Brown –
Extremely durable and a great companion during tough times.
Henrique –
The finish is excellent and the build is sturdy. The high clip allows for easy attachment to pants or pockets without any edges sticking out, and it’s ambidextrous, meaning you can open it with either your left or right hand, making it perfect for left-handed users. On the downside, I can only open it in two steps: first, I use my index finger to pull a pin on the top, and then I push the blade pin with my thumb. Additionally, the blade could be a tad larger, but it’s already quite satisfactory.
Jonquil M –
The liner lock is ineffective; the blade doesn’t stay securely open. Even minimal pressure causes it to close unexpectedly, which is dangerous when in use. It has great potential, but unfortunately, it’s not safe and feels like a waste.
Abby –
This knife arrived impressively sharp. It’s slightly smaller than I anticipated, but that’s on me for not checking the dimensions. The lock feels very robust, and the clip is solid too. It’s a bit stiff to open, though I may just need to work it in. I believe it will be quite durable and serve me well for a long time. Plus, it’s priced very reasonably, making it an excellent gift option for someone.
