This is my second Blur. I broke my last knife after 11 years of heavy use, and while I could have sent it in for repairs, I needed a new one quickly. However, I noticed that the clip is mounted at the bottom of the knife instead of the top like my original. This configuration makes it difficult to slide the larger part of the knife into my pocket, and it tends to catch on the thumb stud. Fortunately, this is an easy fix; just grab a Torx screwdriver and switch the position. The holes are already there, and it takes less than a minute to change. The Speedsafe feature is the best I’ve encountered—simple and effective. It worked flawlessly on my old knife for over a decade with no issues. Kudos to Kershaw! I wouldn’t change a thing.

I was really disappointed when I purchased a SOG knife and found out it was made in Taiwan. It just didn’t feel as high-quality or impressive as this Kershaw, which is proudly made in the USA. From now on, I won’t buy knives from any other brand. This one is ergonomic, incredibly sharp, and has just the right amount of spring assist.

I purchased this knife a couple of years ago while gradually upgrading my collection of pocket knives in terms of quality and price. Looking back now, with a knife worth over $200 in my pocket, I can confidently say this was one of the best options in its price range. The assisted opening mechanism from Kershaw has a satisfying “thwick” sound that makes it enjoyable to fidget with; I’ve opened and closed it countless times without any issues, only needing to clean it once. The blade steel is solid, and I’ve had no problems with the edge, even after it was put to work for yard tasks. There’s been no corrosion either. The grip is practical—thin yet comfortable—surpassing the G10 material found on other knives in this price bracket.
The highest praise I can give it is that I took it on a long trip to Kenya, where it eventually became a gift for a cousin in Nairobi who truly appreciated a quality knife, which is hard to find there.

I was on the hunt for a pocket knife that I could easily open and close, given my arthritis and the limited function of my thumbs. I share this to help anyone else in a similar situation determine if this knife might work for them. After a lot of research, I decided to try the Kershaw Blur partially serrated folding knife. Here are the features I appreciate and why this knife has been the right choice for me:
As a general note, I often need both hands to open and sometimes close the knife. This might be a deal breaker for many pocket knife users. However, I believe that most individuals with fully functional hands should be able to open and close this knife with ease.

Kershaw is the only brand of pocket knife I will consider. As a military member, I use my knife daily for a variety of tasks, and this Kershaw outperforms all the Gerbers I’ve owned while being just as reliable as the Benchmades that cost over $200.
Just buy it. This is my third one because I accidentally left my first at the airport and lost the second overseas.
