This knife is impressive! It arrived securely wrapped in plastic, from handle to blade, and included a rubber tip guard. I appreciated that it was coated in oil to prevent corrosion. Once I wiped it clean, it looked stunning. The knife comes with a well-made leather sheath that features a strap to keep it secure. It feels solid in hand and has a great weight to it.
Just a heads up—THIS KNIFE IS HUGE. It’s almost like a mini sword, so I recommend wearing gloves for a better grip while handling it.
Some people find reasons to complain (those who seem to complain about everything), but I really don’t see any issues. My blade has a tiny nick, but it’s hardly noticeable. Remember, you’re getting a LOT of knife for $80, which would likely cost over $125 in a store. If you’re looking for a “perfect” knife, they do exist, but not at this price point. So, keep your expectations realistic; don’t be that person who expects too much for $80.

This knife arrived exactly as advertised. While it was somewhat sharp, it wasn’t quite up to paper-cutting standards. After a few passes on a Chef’s knife sharpener, it became impressively sharp. I then used a diamond credit card sharpener to achieve a dangerously sharp edge. I’ve used this knife for batoning firewood and small kindling, and it performs excellently! Just remember to know the correct technique before batoning with any knife.
For those who are concerned about the top serrations not being sharp, I’ve discovered that this is intentional. When using the fire starter along the blade, as is typical, it only produced a few sparks. However, pulling the fire starter through the dull serrations generated massive sparks—so much so that I accidentally set my pants on fire!
The included stainless steel sharpener isn’t the best, but it works well enough to “tune up” the blade while camping. I managed to wrap a 20-foot length of 12-pound test line and a fish hook around the sharpener, and it still fits in the sheath’s rear pocket. You can even use the rod from these accessories as a fishing float by adding a small piece of cork or the plastic holders.
The whistles on the fire starter and sharpener are not very loud but are still better than shouting for help. One of the best features of these accessories is the bank line and fasteners attached to them, which provided just enough bank line and clips to secure a runaway tent.
I have large hands and prefer a thicker grip, so I wrapped 25 feet of 550-pound test paracord around the handle. This not only made for a better grip, but you can never have too much paracord in a backpack. Since the inside of paracord is flammable, I unwound about 6 inches, used the knife and sharpener to strip the cover, and started a fire with just the knife, the included fire starter, and the inner strands of the paracord. It worked flawlessly, creating a great fire with some dried twigs.
I liked this knife so much that I bought another one for my boat. The stainless and rubber design should protect it from moisture, unlike my previous high carbon steel boat knife.
