   Great knife that performs all its functions well. Comfortable to hold and easy to open, but it won’t close again. With a small screwdriver, you can push the spring slightly to the side to close it. A bit of a safety concern!

   The NedFoss Pocket Knife is a fantastic budget-friendly option suitable for both beginners and seasoned users, despite being marketed “for men.” Beginners might need an hour or two of practice to get comfortable, while pros will appreciate its robust build and unbeatable price of just $15.99 (as of 2/8/2023).

   Pros:

   • The knife has a solid, hefty feel that conveys strength without being overly bulky in your pocket or on your waist.
   • The gun-metal charcoal-grey finish strikes a perfect balance between matte and shiny.
   • The blade comes sharp right out of the box, easily slicing through paper with an 8/10 sharpness; a whetstone can elevate it to a perfect 10.
   • The thick, sturdy blade held up well during tests against cardboard, a wooden cutting board, a hand towel, and thick bubble-wrap. Though it might chip on harder materials like a tree trunk, it’s more than capable of handling everyday tasks, earning an 8/10 for puncture strength.
   • The heavy blade flicks open smoothly from various angles, consistently achieving a full opening without manual assistance.

   Cons:

   • Flicking the blade open requires some practice, and it might need breaking in to loosen the stiffness. Finding the best technique can be tricky, especially for those with larger hands. I find using the double-sided thumb studs challenging and prefer the back tilt flipper, which demands a firm push from the index finger.
   • The clip is quite tight, which is a minor annoyance but can be adjusted.
   • The seatbelt cutter is ineffective; the main blade serves better in emergency situations.
   • While you can use the bottle opener with the blade closed, it risks misaligning the blade and scratching the finish. Personally, I carry a bottle opener on my keychain, so I doubt I’ll use this feature.

   Mixed feelings:

   • Closing the blade feels adequate but raises questions about its durability in self-defense or heavy-duty tasks, given the simple design of the closure mechanism. So far, it feels secure and hasn’t budged.
   • Its size is substantial; if you’re looking for a more discreet, lightweight option, consider a knife with a blade under 4 inches and a handle under 5 inches.

   Not tested:

   • I haven’t tried the glass breaker yet, but the hilt flipper could potentially serve that purpose if necessary.

   Overall:
   I rate this knife an 8.5/10. A 4-star rating feels too low, so I rounded it up to 5. It cuts well, is durable, and looks great, although the opening mechanism could use some refinement. It performs like a $30–$40 knife! If you encounter any quality issues, you’re not risking a fortune at $15.99, and a replacement should be easy to obtain. For those not deeply into knives, this can be a reliable, one-stop pocket blade with occasional maintenance. Knife enthusiasts will definitely find a place for it in their collection without it being a waste of time or money.

   I was pleasantly surprised by this knife; it’s much better than I anticipated. The quality is impressive for its price point. The single finger opening action is smooth and allows for quick deployment of the blade with a satisfying click. It feels heftier than I expected. With a sharp blade and great features, it’s an incredible value for the cost.

   We were pleasantly surprised by this knife. It’s well-crafted and highly functional. The flipper action operates smoothly, and the knife opens with a satisfying “clank.” The blade locks securely with a simple liner latch for easy closure. Both the blade and handle feature an attractive titanium-like finish, making it a visually appealing knife. The handle also incorporates a cutter designed for paracord or seatbelt emergencies, along with a glass-breaker, which adds to its practicality. The knife has a nice weight to it, ensuring it would perform effectively if needed. Additionally, it comes with a sturdy belt clip, a nut-driver, and a bottle opener built into the handle. With its low price, this knife makes an excellent gift!

   My video review goes into detail, but here’s a written summary for those who prefer it.

   This knife has a striking appearance with various tactical patterns and grooves that, unfortunately, don’t enhance its functionality.

   Out of the five everyday carry features, two are the common and rather unnecessary glass breaker and seat belt cutter. The seat belt cutter can’t be sharpened, and in all my years of driving, I’ve never found either feature necessary.

   The bottle opener might work (I didn’t test it), but you have to open the knife to access it. Seriously.

   As for the wrench feature, while the metal seems sturdy, it won’t fit in tight spaces and is only useful for a limited range of specific sizes. If you need a wrench, just get a multi-tool.

   The blade itself is impressive and opens quickly using either a thumb stud or a lever on the bottom. The lever functions well, but I found the thumb stud to be a bit risky—if you try to open the knife quickly, you might slice your thumb.

   It comes with a sheath and a belt clip, which feels a bit redundant.

   Weighing in at 8.5 oz—over half a pound—it’s a bit hefty for a knife and an inconvenient bottle opener.

   However, it looks great and is competitively priced, so I don’t regret the purchase.
